Emma Hawthorne

Emma is a seasoned performer in Musical Theatre with 18 years of performing in Australasian tours. In many of these productions, Emma has also been in the role of Resident Choreographer/Dance Captain. She is also a choreographer, teacher, and certified yoga instructor. She has taught for over 20 years in Musical Theatre, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, Yoga, Singing and Acting to a variety of ages and abilities including adults with disability. She often teaches at Sydney Dance Company and NIDA and specialises in Triple Threat (singer, dancer, actors).


Emma completed her dance exams in ATOD in Jazz, Tap and Ballet. She then went to study Musical Theatre at NIDA and later studied at Steps on Broadway in New York. She also has a Certificate IV in Yoga Teacher Training as well as her Associate in Music (AMusA) for Classical Voice.


Professional shows include 9 to 5 (Crossroads Live) where she understudied Caroline O’Connor and was Dance Captain, Wicked (GFO), Mamma Mia (Louise Withers), West Side Story (Opera Australia), Hair (Peace Productions), Dusty (The Production Company), Annie (GFO), Dr Zhivago (GFO), West Side Story (West Side Story Australasia), Fiddler on the Roof (TML Productions), Debbie Does Dallas: The Musical (Three Amigos Productions), Kiss Me Kate (The Production Company), and Godspell: Prepare Ye (Hayden Tee).


As an adjudicator, Emma hopes to support, empower, and inspire young performers with constructive feedback that can help them in the development of their career.
