Elizabeth Castro

Elizabeth is a Sydney-based professional dancer and New South Wales Department of Education Dance teacher with over 25 years of training and industry experience. As a highly respected performing artist and educator, she has built an extensive career across film, television, stage, corporate, and live entertainment.

Elizabeth is a graduate of Brent Street Academy, where she completed full-time training in all styles of dance and attained a Certificate IV in Performing Arts. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and Bachelor of Education (History) from the University of New South Wales, She is also a VET Trainor and Assessor in Assistant Dance Teaching CUA30320.

Her professional credits span both screen and stage. Elizabeth has hosted and performed in children's entertainment productions with Showtime Attractions and worked extensively with Dargie Entertainment as a dancer, model, and actor, touring throughout Australia in live productions and corporate events including the ACE Awards, Starlight Children’s Foundation and Myer Fashion on the fields just to name a few. Her diverse performance portfolio includes modelling for the Sydney Wedding Expo, Senior dancer  with the Locreado Contemporary Dance Company, appearing as a featured dancer/extra in the ABC3 television series Dance Academy, and featuring in television commercials and catalogues for Big W and Hyundai. She also appeared in the true-crime documentary series Con Girl, among many other professional engagements.

Alongside her performance career, Elizabeth is deeply passionate about Dance Education, choreography, and adjudication. She began teaching at a young age and has worked across numerous dance studios throughout Western Sydney before transitioning into secondary education, where she combines her industry experience with her formal teaching qualifications.

Elizabeth is currently a Dance teacher at Nepean Creative and Performing Arts High School, where she teaches Years 7–12 Dance and co-ordinates a wide range of school performances and showcases. She also works regularly with the NSW Department of Education Arts Unit, contributing to dance festivals and state-wide arts initiatives.

As an adjudicator and mentor, Elizabeth has been on judging panels for local dance eisteddfods, HSC Dance Performance assessments and mock auditions, where she is recognised for providing insightful and constructive feedback to aspiring young performers wanting to pursue a career in the Performing Arts Industry.

Drawing on her extensive knowledge of both the performing arts industry and Australian curriculum delivery, Elizabeth is committed to providing high-quality dance education that inspires creativity, builds confidence, and empowers young people to develop their skills and reach their full potential both on and off the stage.
