Kristy’s career in dancing began at the age of four when she began tap dancing with the legendary Mr. Les Griffith in Newcastle NSW.

Kristy’s first major achievement was at the age of nine after being selected to compete in The Fred Astaire Performing Arts Challenge in Miami, Florida and subsequently gaining the highest points scored amongst her age group.  Following Mr. Griffith’s passing Kristy completed her tap exams and L.G.T.D.A. teaching diploma with Donna Michalitsis (former co-owner of L.G.T.D.A.) and eisteddfod & concert training with Pullar’s Dancing Academy. Her success is demonstrated through winning an average of thirty tap and song & dance championships and scholarships per year.

During this period Kristy was also awarded the rare honour of a perfect score of 100/100 for one eisteddfod performance.

Kristy studied Classical Ballet (R.A.D.), Jazz, Character and Modern/Contemporary dance with Marie Walton-Mahon (Founder of the National College of Dance, Australia & Director of PBT) from the age of seven.

At the age of eight Kristy began singing and speech & drama.

Kristy now devotes her time to her own dance school, HVT Studio of Performing Arts, in the Hunter Region of NSW, Australia. Since opening 25 years ago her students have been very successful in eisteddfods winning many championships and troupe competitions and also gain excellent results in their annual tap & ballet exams.

Students from HVT have performed in many stage musicals and have been accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), The Royal Ballet (UK), Brent St, Victorian Performing Arts College, Norwegian Cruise lines and Carnival Cruises.

Kristy was appointed by L.G.T.D.A. to examine throughout Australia and has enjoyed her time examining with L.G.T.D.A.

Kristy has been an associate member of the Australian Dance Adjudicators organisation for the past 26 years. She has adjudicated at over 30 eisteddfods in Australia and New Zealand and on many occasions has been asked to return to an eisteddfod to judge.

Most recently she was honoured to judge the National Tap Championships for A.T.O.D. where she ran a series of tap master classes and judged their solo performances to award their top four National tappers in each age category.

Kristy is confident in both written reports and voice critiques and can run to a tight schedule by being fast and efficient. Kristy enjoys adjudicating all styles of dance and gives constructive feedback to aid in the development of young dancers of today.
