Nicole Shipman

Nicole Shipman is the Director of Clarence River Dance Academy and has dedicated more than 38 years to dance education and training. A highly respected teacher and adjudicator, she is known for developing technically strong and versatile dancers, with a particular focus on classical ballet.


Nicole began dancing at age five and later received a scholarship to London with the British Ballet Organisation. She completed full-time training in Sydney at Halliday Dance Arts Centre and achieved her Advanced Royal Academy of Dance examination. She also holds Registered Teacher Status (RTS) with the Royal Academy of Dance.


Throughout her career, Nicole has trained students across ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre and tap, with many students achieving success in RAD exams, scholarships, competitions and professional dance careers in Australia and internationally. She has also led international dance tours and created numerous performance opportunities for young dancers.


As an adjudicator, Nicole is recognised for her strong technical knowledge, constructive feedback and supportive approach, helping dancers build confidence, artistry and performance quality.
