Dance

With over 35 years of experience in performing and teaching, along with 20 years of adjudicating dance and cheer at local, regional, and national levels, Peta is truly passionate about sharing the joys of the Performing Arts. She believes in the importance of mental and physical health for our youth and is dedicated to nurturing the next generation. Her goal is to provide encouraging feedback, valuable opportunities, and guidance to help students achieve success in their personal and professional journeys.

Peta's love for performance started during high school when she began serious training in various dance styles, drama, and singing with some remarkable industry professionals. Her career kicked off when she landed a contract with the P&O Fairstar, performing in their entertainment team during school holidays. Since then, she has had the pleasure of working with amazing artists like Tina Arena, Jane Scali, Dennis Walter, the late Bobby Limb, Ricky May, and Paul Mercurio while touring across Australia and performing in Sydney.

After stepping back from performing to raise her three wonderful children, Peta has taught dance at a variety of respected dance studios and educational institutions, from K-12 to university levels. She also enjoys leading fitness classes, including Zumba®, ZumbAtomic®, and HOT HULA® fitness, at health clubs, gyms, schools, and community centres.

To add to her diverse experience, Peta has choreographed for several exciting events, like the World Cup Soccer, Sydney Flames and Kings Basketball, Sydney Business Awards and the Easter Show, among many other community and private celebrations.

With her extensive background in both education and competition management, Peta knows what it takes to create an enjoyable and successful event. She is committed to providing thoughtful feedback that dancers and educators can truly use. Peta is known for her positive and encouraging spirit, timely judging, and her ability to confidently adjudicate all genres, including vocals. Her love for what she does really shines through in her work!

Peta believes that dance is so much more than just mastering steps—it's about embracing passion, discipline, commitment, bravery, and respect for ourselves and one another – qualities they can carry through to their adult lives. As adjudicators, it's essential to recognize that everyone is on their own unique journey. Every dancer deserves our attention and guidance, and Peta is here to support them every step of the way!
