Dance

Lisa began dancing at the age of five, studying all facets of

dance including classical ballet, musical theatre, tap, jazz, hip

hop and contemporary. Lisa competed in many local

eisteddfods, as well as interstate and also danced under the

guidance of Kathleen Gorham O.B.E in Queensland.

Lisa trained in classical ballet (Cecchetti Syllabus) and is a fully

qualified teacher in the A.T.O.D Syllabus, having gained both her

Junior and Associate Teaching Diplomas in 1991. She has also

furthered her qualifications and knowledge in Tap by studying

the Glen Wood Tap Syllabus.

Lisa’s excellent classical teaching consistently allows students to

gain extremely high marks for their classical examinations each

and every year.

Lisa is the Owner/Director of a well-established dance school in

Gippsland and will proudly celebrate 39 years of teaching in

2026. Lisa has expanded her extensive teaching expertise

through her completion of Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and

Management and has completed her certificate in Dance

Adjudication with Australian Dance Adjudicators (ADA). Lisa is a

highly renowned adjudicator and is well known for her excellent

feedback and detailed written and voice critiques. Lisa is also

currently a mentor for ADA trainee adjudicators.

Lisa has enjoyed teaching dance to kindergarten and primary

school students and has also worked for the organization Berry

Street, teaching dance to children recovering from the trauma

of abuse, neglect or violence. Working with special needs adults

from IGain and using dance as a therapy has also been a

highlight in Lisa’s dancing and teaching career.

Lisa likes to encourage all students and give positive and

constructive feedback. She has a great passion for teaching

and feels truly fortunate to work in such an enjoyable and

rewarding occupation as both a teacher and adjudicator.
