Melanie van Voornveld

Melanie has been dancing since the age of 4 and completed many successful examinations at both graded and major levels with RAD, AJDA, NZAMD and ISTD, studying all aspects of the performing arts through to age 17.

At 17, she began full-time training, completing a Certificate in Performance Dance (minor in Drama) before continuing at East Auckland Performing Arts. Over three years she trained across all areas of the performing arts industry and achieved: Diploma of Dance Teaching Practices, Diploma of Performance Dance Techniques, I.S.T.D. Modern Theatre Dance Associate Diploma and I.S.T.D. Full Teaching Membership.

She later moved to Melbourne, completing a further year of in-depth Commercial Dance studies. Teaching since age 15, she has prepared many students for examinations with excellent results and is an Affiliate member of the ATOD. She has also completed the Transit Dance Adjudication Certificate, providing in-depth training from industry professionals.

A passionate, educated and unbiased dance teacher and adjudicator, she is known for supportive, constructive feedback that helps performers improve following competition. After a break for breast cancer treatment and recovery, she is now all clear and excited to be back adjudicating with fresh energy and focus. Now based on the Albury/Wodonga border, she is ideally positioned to travel anywhere in Australia.
