Gemma Gould
Specialises in:
Dance
For Gemma Gould, dance has always been the one constant. Throughout her childhood she explored a variety of interests, yet dance was the passion she continually returned to. Each time she stepped away, she found herself drawn back to the studio, ultimately confirming that teaching, performing, and sharing her love of dance was where she truly belonged.
Based in Perth, Western Australia, Gemma is a dance educator, choreographer, and competitive performer at Momentum Performing Arts Academy. She teaches students from 18 months to 18 years across Acrobatics, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, and Lyrical, and choreographs both concert and competition routines. Passionate about developing confident, well-rounded performers, Gemma places a strong emphasis on technical foundations while encouraging dancers to express their individuality on stage. She particularly enjoys watching students grow in confidence and celebrating the progress that comes through commitment, perseverance, and hard work.
Gemma has trained across a diverse range of styles, including Acrobatics, Aerial Hoops, Ballet, Broadway Jazz, Commercial Jazz, Contemporary, Heels, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, and Modern Jazz. She also undertakes specialised training in stretch and strengthening, and leaps and turns. Her qualifications include a Certificate III in Assistant Dance Teaching, a Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management, Acrobatic Arts Module 1, DanceAid (First Aid for Dancers), and the ATOD Elementary Jazz Examination.
As both a soloist and troupe competitor, Gemma understands the dedication, preparation, and resilience required to perform in a competitive environment. She also appeared in the Solitude to Solidarity music video, produced by Tranby College, which was choreographed by herself and her peers.
Having experienced dance as a student, competitor, teacher, and choreographer, Gemma believes adjudication should be fair, consistent, and encouraging. She values strong technique, musicality, stage presence, and genuine performance quality while recognising the effort every dancer invests in their performance. Her goal is to provide practical, constructive feedback that inspires dancers to continue growing with confidence, determination, and a genuine love of dance. She is committed to creating a positive adjudication experience where every competitor feels respected, acknowledged, and motivated to keep striving for their personal best.
